U16’s captain leads by example and nets treat from Eze Group

An inspirational captain received an end of January treat as part of a brand new initiative launched by Eze Group – a competition that recognises and rewards captains and leaders.

Football coach Simon Hall nominated captain Myles Cooper, from Worcestershire, to sit in the luxury seats in the Eze Group Stand and enjoy a pre-match meal in the Captain’s Club, at Blues’ recent home game against Reading.

Myles was nominated for his tremendous leadership and commitment shown when captaining Eckington Juniors U16’s. Despite receiving offers from other clubs, Myles stayed faithful and has driven his local team to reach second in the league so far.

Simon said: “Myles has been with the club for a very long time. He is pretty much the only player that has stayed with the team the whole way through, despite having countless offers from other teams.

“At the start of the season we had hardly any players, and no coach either. With Simon’s help we now have a full team who are performing brilliantly, considering the struggle we’ve had growing the side.

“He hasn’t missed a game or training session and is always motivating the other players to succeed, especially when things aren’t going their way.”

Eze Group – diamond sponsors of Blues – recently launched the Captain’s Club initiative, designed to recognise and reward those great captains who are leading from the front and inspiring their colleagues.

Myles, his dad Oliver, Harvey Hutchins and Phil Bullock all watched the game from the luxury seats in the Eze Group Stand, before enjoying a pre-match meal in the Captain’s Club.

Myles said: “What a class evening, thank you so much Eze Group. I don’t tend to come to the Blues that often so it was a real treat.

“The view we had was something else and the pre-match meal was great. I’ve always loved being a captain so it’s not something I find difficult – I really enjoy it.”

Eze Group CEO Dominic O’Reilly said: “When we read Simon’s nomination for Myles it made it very difficult for us to turn it down. Myles is true inspiration, driving his team to second in the league after having a shaky start to the season. We wish Eckington Juniors all the best for the future.”

Over the coming months Eze Group will ask fans to nominate school form captains, captains in the community and up and coming captains of industry.
